Life’s Too Short (It Really Is)

I saw part of a late night infomercial promoting a product that was supposed to cure most any common disease, and just might allow you to live to be 120 years old! Then a vibrant, physically fit young woman started telling how she’s been taking this product and giving it to her two children. She was so excited talking about all the extra years they will have together….. because of this wonderful product…….

I think most of us eventually find out that, no matter who you are….. life on this earth is uncertain and short.

In 1991, just two years before his unexpected death at age 59, Conway Twitty recorded a song written by: Bobby Fischer, Johnny MacRae and Richard Ross, called: “Life’s Too Short (No Matter How Long It Lasts)”.

Keep in mind what we’re taught from the book of James, chapter 4, verse 14 (NASB) “Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.” And also: Psalm 90:12 (NLT) “Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.”

It’s always a good thing to take care of our physical bodies so we enjoy as much good health as possible. And we should also enjoy our times with family and friends….. but….. Life Is Short, it really is….. Then what?
Hebrews 9:27 “And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement;”

Something to think about about…..

Till Next Time…..

These wonderful posts are written by my good friend Steve Nauman. He lives on a farm in northern Indiana with his wife, Ruth.

He owned and operated a machine shop until 2020. These stories come from the people and experiences that made lasting impressions upon him as he grew up in his father's general store in Upstate NY and later in his own business.
